Magazine articles introduction styles
The introduction style is important in magazine articles as they capture the reader’s attention and makes them decide whether they want to carry on reading or not.
Shock horror introduction
Did you know that thousands of people are affected by identity theft each year, and each year they get worse and worse? Imagine waking up on a normal day, going to a restaurant, paying for your meal and getting told that you don’t have any money in your account. How would you and your children feel? This happens to many people every day, leaving them homeless with no shelter and no money to buy food.
Shock horror is a good introduction and it gets people aware of the article and will want to read more. This introduction is effective as it tells you something that has actually happened so they will want to know how they can prevent it by reading on.
Question Introduction
Have you ever been a victim of identity theft? Have you ever thought that one of them people who are affected by it could be you? People can be left homeless or will no money or food every year, would you want this to be you?
Question introductions are effective as they make the audience think about what you are asking them and they will pay attention to the rest of the article.  It also talks to specifically you which will make them want to read on to how they can prevent it.
Quote Introduction
“That day was the worst day of my life. I lost everything that was important to me.”
Quote introductions tell the reader that it is real and could actually happen to them if they don’t do something about it. It makes them want to read on and find out what happens and makes it more personal.

Shutter speed is used to allow moving images look still and is the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open. Slow shutter speed is used so part of the photography is blurry, adding the effect that it is moving. Fast shutter speed does the opposite of this and freezes the movement so it shows in the photograph. The top two photos show fast shutter speed where the shutter is open for 1/800th of a second and the bottom two photographs show slow shutter speed where the shutter is open for 1/500th of a second. The only possible problems with the top two photographs is the poor framing, as half of the bodies and hands are cut out. A solution to solve this is to take my time when taking the photograph and to review them as soon as you have taken them. The problems with the bottom two is that they are slightly out of focus and a way to solve this is to put your camera into automatic focus mode. My targets for the next time I take photographs would be to review my images as soon as I have taken them experiment with shutter speed more and get them more accurate.

Before

For this product I used photoshop to try and make an image look scary. I did this by uploading a photo and then using the 'magnetic laso tool' I dragged her teeth to make them look like vampire teeth. After doing this I then made her face colour look cold and death like, I did this by using the 'sponge tool'. I then used the 'burn tool' and made her mouth red and eyes stand out more, making her look more scary.

Induction Project Evaluation
Throughout this project I have developed a lot of new skills whilst working with a camera and using Photoshop. When using the camera I learnt the difference between portrait and landscape and in Photoshop I made a margin so the images and text would be in line, I also learnt how to add an image to the document which I found was quite easy and making the image transform was another skill I now have. The weaknesses I had been trying to focus the camera so the image wasn’t blurry which I found difficult but towards the end I learnt this skill well. I am progressing as at the beginning of the project I wasn’t able to do many things in Photoshop but now I am able to use most of the tools.
Looking at my skills development assessment sheet I have used many of the skills there, including the text control, filters and the layers. I used these effectively by making the text and images look more professional and this demonstrates my skills progression as this tells you how I got the front cover to look how it does and how I did it. The weaknesses in my work as the colour of the font and if I did this project again I would make the colour be the same as a colour in the image so it connects more together.
The target audience before I re-branded the product was anyone between 13-18, where as my new target audience is females aged between 15 and 21. The topics I have discussed on the front cover will make the target audience interested in my magazine and the colours used will make them interested in it as they aren’t really bright colours which could be used for children.

Using Photoshop, I uploaded an image of a women with spots. Using the healing brush tool I 'got rid' of all the spots. I did this by clicking the healing brush tool and then creating a new layer. After selecting all of the layers I used the keys 'alt' and right clicked over one part of the skin, then clicking over a spot and making it disappear. From using Photoshop I learnt a new skill which was the healing brush.

CD cover - urban heroes, media warrior

I created my CD cover, which is called Urban Hereos with their new single Media Warrior, using Photoshop. In Photoshop I used fronts and different brushes. The first thing I did was find out the dimensions of an actual CD and I then opened a new document and made it the same. I got my font from the internet which I then saved onto my computer, I thought this was better than using a font already available on Photoshop as it would relate better to the CD cover. When I was making my background there were various shapes I could of used and when I picked the appropriate ones I changed the shape dynamic and the scattering of the shape. I thought the shapes blended in well together and the final product looked suitable for the CD.

I did my front cover by using Photoshop. I picked the colours I did as they stand out against the background. I used an alliteration 'crazy, coolest clothes' as it will make the reader want to read on.
